Sarajevo, September 26, 2024 – In collaboration with partner organizations Montessori Community Center and STEM Academy, the non-governmental and nonprofit Foundation “Olympiad of Knowledge” has launched the Educational Center with programs aimed at supplementary education for children aged 8 months to 18 years. Education will be conducted according to Montessori pedagogy and STEM education programs, as stated in the Foundation's press release.

Montessori education includes three programs for working with children. “The Absorbent Mind” has two groups of children. The first group works with children aged 8 to 18 months, and the second group from 18 months to 3 years. “Through Senses to Knowledge” involves working with children from 3 to 6 years, and “Citizen of the World” with children from 5 to 9 years. Children work in an environment tailored to age groups, with rotating shelves, mirrors, drawing surfaces, and materials for motor development. Each group has access to materials that meet their developmental needs, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for growth and learning. The STEM Academy is the only one in BiH that implements a comprehensive STEM educational program for children and youth. The STEM Academy is the only original BH brand in the field of developing and implementing STEM educational programs for children and youth aged 5 to 18 years. The STEM Academy program focuses on developing logical thinking, creativity, collaborative, communication, and presentation skills through education via courses: logical thinking and mathematics, programming and engineering, research and science, robotics, collaboration and communication, and cloud technology.

The Foundation notes that they are looking for partners to organize education in subjects/fields: English, Mathematics, Informatics, Business and Entrepreneurship, Physics, and Healthy Nutrition. The emphasis is on learning through play with specially designed didactic aids – toys and computers. Education will take place from Monday to Saturday,” emphasizes the Foundation. In this regard, the Foundation “Olympiad of Knowledge” invites all interested and qualified educators who enjoy working with children in the mentioned fields to apply. Scholarships will be provided for children from less privileged backgrounds. Interested candidates for teaching classes and workshops are requested to submit a short CV and work program or project to the email: muhamed.pilav@olimpijadaznanja.ba.

The Foundation “Olympiad of Knowledge” focuses on improving the educational system with the aim of acquiring functional knowledge among children, students, and pupils. The founders of this non-governmental and non-profit organization are academician, Prof. Dr. Mirko Pejanović, emeritus, Prof. Dr. Željko Šain, and Mr. Oec. Sci. Muhamed Pilav, a successful entrepreneur with domestic and international experience.

“We plan to provide scholarships for the best students who enroll in the best secondary schools but cannot afford to do so. We will also scholarship all those best high school students who enroll in the best faculties in the country and abroad,” and are unable to financially support their education,” states the Foundation Olympiad of Knowledge press release from Sarajevo.
